KZN inductions delayed. Instead of running 11-13 Jul, they are now scheduled for 18-20 Jul. There was a comms breakdown among DBN, PMB & PTA officials. Inductees were turned away and told to return next Tue

Induction done in KZN. Was an interactive session around the Constitution & Bill of rights. Certificates will be ready in 2-3 weeks time, all other things being equal. Well attended session, some guys travelled from other provinces.

Does that only apply to KZN? as far as I know no certificate has been issued to anyone yet. If anyone received the certificate from Gauteng please inform us!

We were told process is as follows:
1. Attendance to be ed on system
2. Pretoria to capture induction against each one in attendance
3. Pretoria to print certificates and send to Maritzburg regional office
4. Applicants to be called by Maritzburg regional mgr in 2-3 weeks to come sign allegiance & collect cert (same time advised to apply for new ID & pt)
5. Come back to Citizenship counter and add your wife & kids (no need for proof of PR for them. Their citizenship automatically flows from main applicant)

Can you explain again in more detail point number 5 of adding wife and kids. Are you saying once you get your citizenship your spouse and kids automatically also become citizens without them going through a similar application process?

Your wife & kids will not do a full-blown citizenship application. They will do a lite version called "Elevation & Proclamation of citizenship status". Its done at Citizenship counter. Required - your citizenship cert & your new ID

I wish it was like this for a spouse of SA citizen and Mother of two minor Citizens (myself).... I have been trying to submit my Naturalisation for over a year and DHA wants ... Spousal Interview , now I am supposed to have two spousal interviews ( been in SA since 2009)

I dont know about families on different permit from the main member. The trainer was referring to a family setup where everyone is on PR. She was recommending family naturalisation applications so everything is done in one go.

Good day
I wanted to kindly request that you update us when this process is complete in the next 3 weeks. I applied for citizenship in 2018, and got approval in December 2019, which I received via SMS, and also went to DHA and showed approval awaiting induction into the system. However, I only managed to get booked for induction in July 2022. At that induction, I was told all the above you have been told. The lady even gave us her personal number to follow up with her in 3 weeks. I'm sad to say we have not received anything even the call centre says we will be called when the certificates are ready. At our induction, there were about 3 guys who were told their certificates were ready and they immediately drove to PTA to collect. I have seen in the comments someone saying no certificates were printed since 2018 and I would believe it. But I remain hopeful. Thank you

Be rest assured that the 3 people who went to PTA head office to collect their naturalization certificates, they got them. The person i know that got his certificate in July or August 2022 was all over Europe for holidays on his South African port.

What I've learnt from posts here though is that someone's initiative through 'pushing' helps, instead of waiting for a phone call. A case in point is that of people who added their names on the induction list.

Let's keep pushing.

Sure will keep you posted. optimistic but very cautious. One guy in our group was getting inducted for 2nd time in 2 successive years. He never received any update after 1st session and his follow-ups yielded blanks.
