The most popular home internet router brand in the US may be banned from sale in the country over fears...
this is it, all routers phone home from major manufacturers. They send diagnostic, they check for firmware and even time stamps.I have TPLink. I have not noticed any issues but I set them up to prevent the most common hacking. The spraying works because people don't change the defaults. Also I keep firmware updated and reboot often. I figure most people already give away their info online without any hacking.
I use a VPN on my devices if I need to be safer. While I am all for watching out for Chinese government hacking, many items we buy in the Philippines come from china and what makes a company bad there? Any of them can be influenced.
