Greece Private Health Insurance

Hello everyone,

My wife and I are looking to relocate to Greece from the US. My problem is I have Crohn's disease and take a drug that is around $500/dose and I take 4 a month. Is there any insurance that we can get that would not kill me financially and would cover this?

This seems to be my only hold-up and I want to get a move on. Any help would be huge!

It would be helpful to know on what basis you will be able to "relocate" to Greece from the USA. Are you are Greek citizen? If you are, you may qualify for basic health insurance coverage through IKA but you must first obtain your AMKA number/registration. I have no idea if the medication you take would be covered under Greek health insurance. You should also explore companies like CIGNA which offer health insurance coverage for expats in Greece.
