Hello folks I've done a fair bit of research but I'd appreciate a bit of detail if people can offer it. I am a UK citizen and my partner of six and a half years is an Irish national. I understand that if we wish to move to Spain, she would need to as the EU citizen and then I can apply as her partner. From what I can gather she would need to prove an income of 7,000 euros or so and savings, and that's no problem, I'm curious as to whether my income would be the same requirement, or would it be the same as if I were applying for a non lucrative visa for example where it would be more like 28,000 a year. We both have enough to cover in savings two years at 28k, plus the additional 6k for example under the non lucrative requirements - however I would just like to know what the requirements are under this scheme?
I'm also curious as to what the possibilities would be for travel back and forth I understand that there's a requirement to be resident for six months a year? Is this correct?
And also what the situation will be if I want to undertake some kind of paid work. I'm an artist and currently do some self-employed work. I know that she could work if she wanted to because she's an EU citizen anyway - I would have a rental income from my house in the UK plus a small pension and savings for stop but it's just helpful to know what the regulations are. I imagine if you are coming over as somebody's partner and this is approved then you would have the same rights once you had your residency as they do?
