I need some advice regarding my tenancy agreement. My contract states:

"The Tenant shall be responsible for all utility consumption charges during the tenancy. DEWA, Gas, internet connection and other charges by tenant consumption. Chiller is Free."

However, we've now been informed by the authorities that the chiller is no longer free, and a meter needs to be installed.

Should I ask my landlord to cover the cost of the meter installation and the monthly chiller bills؟

Hi,
As you don’t own the property - then the landlord is fully responsible for any costs in relation to fitting the meter.
Also, as your contract states that your chiller costs are free to you - then the landlord should be receiving and paying the bills for the newly installed chiller meter.
The problem you may have is if the landlord is slow to pay the chiller bills and then you get “cut off” - this would be a nightmare in the summer months!
Cheers
Steve
