I am currently living in , but I have a lot of my financial s, social media s, etc. in the US. As such, I had a US Skype number that I could use to receive two factor authentication to access those s online.
But now Skype numbers have gone away and I need to find a new home for my US phone number. I have already tried porting it to several different companies, without success. For some reason, they do not allow the six digit 2FA numbers to be received via VOIP. Something to do with fraud, apparently.
So now I am in a quandary because I can’t access any of those s! Has anyone here had to deal with this issue? Does anyone have any suggestions of what might work? I really don’t want to make a special trip to the US just to find some cheap cell phone service that will host my ex-Skype number.
