I love Jelly Babies!!

I'm currently missing stuff from the UK right now! I'd love to get my hands on a nice Milkybar right now, or some Toffee Crisp, or Walker's Roast Chicken crisps and a chicken caesar wrap from Tesco!

 

vegetarian sausage rolls, veggie pasties, crumpets with fresh blackberry and black currant jam, my mother in law's chocolate ginger jam fairy cakes, maltesers!!!

 

I miss Chippies, Indian Curry Houses, Sayers and Greggs Pasties, Bitter and Mild, Galaxy Chocolate, Digestive Biscuits (plain and chocolate), Cadburies Chocolate, Walkers Crisps, and people who can understand what I am saying.

I miss Greggs too especially their sausage rolls ....god only knows what's in the sausagemeat mush but I just love the taste of them so much. :biggrin1:

For us in Canada all of the bolded above are readily available. Surely you can find them online in the US?

 

While they are challenging it, Cadburys can't be sold in the US and sure you can get the other stuff online at ridiculous prices. Plus delivery.

 

I don't miss anything really, I mean I don't sit in Spain thinking about foods, places or people in the UK. I do like a fresh cream cake, real ale and a fish and chips tea when I go back though

When i'm abroad in Pakistan - i miss the internet & chicken!

Oh and if it's cold i miss the central heating.

 

A good friend of mine always claimed to have a particularly strong craving for Baked Beans when he spent an extended period outside of the UK- he wasn't even a huge fan of them!

 

I miss just going to the supermarkets (far better than the ones in Netherlands, not as crowded, and politeness abounds!), Pret a manger, and Costa! I always have a flat white from Costa when I visit.

 

good and cheap Indian food, and online grocery shopping with delivery.

conversely, here i seem to struggle to find consistently good greek food--the nice proper stuff, not just the kebabs.

 

I miss the cycling!

I was with two cycling clubs when I lived in Brum, and there was a ride most everyday. We rode all over Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Shropshire and beyond. Stopped at old, quaint, and lovely pubs for lunch. Then back on our bikes riding on mostly single track lanes through some of the loveliest countryside on the planet. Even this time of year and winter, it was always a good time with the nicest folks.

I do miss the curries and Baltis - found some good ones in but just not quite the same. And, yes, fish & chips!

I miss good chocolate being cheap (like Malteasers cost about 5£ in Brazil for a very small one, in UK you can get the big one for 1£), kebab takeaway's and specially and most of all.... PRIMARK!!

Oh I miss my husband aswell

 

Rhubarb.

 

There is a kebab shop just near where I live and it does a really nice Lamb burger!

 

It's gotta be Greggs for me, I missed it enough when I moved from Yorkshire to Brighton but then it migrated south...good times

 

Me Beanos, the charity shops what sell second hand books..and chutney and the curries.. This delicious crispy peking chicken dish found only in Beeston, Notts. The skating rink and xmas market during xmas in the market square. Next and Dorothy Perkins..hmv!!! Really should be making a list for next visit!

 

While we can get many things from Iceland in Fuengirola (450km round trip) and really good fish and chips at the Crispy Cod on the seafront, there are some things which are not available or there are no substitutes in Spanish shops such as:
Decent smoked haddock (not the grotty frozen offcuts sold by Iceland) preferably undyed. Or smoked cod.
Proper Turkish Delight (i.e. not gelatin posing as TD)
Smoked gammon ham
Pork leg ts with skin on (for crackling!)

Some of these can be bought from "British Corner Shop" but, with Brexit, who knows for how long.

 

The pub, funnily enough.

Just popping down at 10 for the last hour, bump into someone, have a natter, and then home for back of 11.

 

I miss the Shredless marmalade, you used to get it recently at Siambury Western food shop in Pattaya.

 

Fish and Chips ????

Yuk....it is the food of satan.

I miss steak and kidney pie and mushy pees.

You bite into the pie and chew on something.

Is it a bit of meat or a bit of kidney ? It's fun food.

If it is Kidney you just quickly eat some mushy pees to take the taste away.

I'm not selling this am I ?
