HI all
Some advice please.
I have now received messages to say that my visa renewal that I applied for in January 2024 is on it way back to VFS.
My scenario briefly (as possible!):
Due to an oversight on my existing visa renewal and expiry of my port I applied for a renewal for my visa that would have an expiry date of May 2024 (governed by my expiry date of my port).
Of course not aware of the lengthy delays at the time (as never have had delay issues before on numerous previous renewals) my plan of renewing again with a new port when I received this outcome fell flat.
I then sought the advice from a reputable immigration lawyer who suggested we apply for a new 11.6b visa on my new port and do relevant visa runs to ensure I was legal in the country.
With the advent of the visa waiver extension at the end of June 2024 my January application was now in that window, thus no need for visa runs, so I have now exceeded the 90 day date from when I last went back to the UK..
By the fact that the visa renewal that I applied for in January 2024 has already ed the expiry date it will be rejected, and so I will have to leave within 10 working days once collected.
So..
Due to commitments etc I want to do a visa run back to the UK next weekend but may not get an appointment for collection before this.
If I was to do this I still have the receipt etc (along with receipts for PRP from 2017 and the June 2024 application) so should still be covered the waiver I can then re-enter with another 90 visitor permit.
Do I have to collect the (rejected) visa outcome from the January 2024 application and If I did so with another 90 day visitor stamp in my new port would I have to exit still when I collect the outcome?
Another idea is that I'm going on holiday to the UK in mid December 2024 how long can I stall the visa collection for and save having to waste money on the 3rd visa run to the UK of the year!
Many thanks for any input
